This isn't a good deal, you can find better jackets for less.

jealbr75I've had these issued they are pretty good. Short of getting a down jacket they are decent and they are hard wearing. Still they are pricey.

jealbr75Any suggestions you can provide? What interests me is the packed dimensions of this jacket, it seems pretty small. If you have any other suggestions for something that packs down that small and is cheaper, I am honestly interested in learning what product it is. Thanks in advance.

cr0n1cHop on Steep and Cheap and find a 700-800 fill hydrophobic down jacket for about this price (e.g., there was a Montane Featherlite on there yesterday for about $110), or a name-brand synthetic jacket for cheaper. Both will come in at half the weight of this Snugpak, because they'll use lighter fabrics and more efficient insulation. The down will compress down to half the size.
For example, there's an Outdoor Research Neoplume synthetic jacket on there right now for $50. 15oz, Primaloft Silver Eco.
Or a North Face Thermoball at 12oz and the same price as this drop.
I don't know why you'd buy this Sleeka at nearly full price when there are top-brand jackets on sale for half price that are lighter, warmer, and more compressible.
