Great support, perhaps some comfort issues for certain people
The Good:
I've been recovering from a knee injury (I'm an avid cyclist and rock climber) for some time and putting these insoles in my shoes (5.10 Freeriders, which have virtually no arch support) has definitely helped stabilize my knee. My right foot has more than a normal amount of flex in the bone structure (I forget the technical term for that), and so it can more easily rock side to side and that instability isn't great for the knees, especially as I was recovering with physical therapy. The support of these insoles really help keep my knee aligned during normal activities.
The ??:
My feet have always been very sensitive to arches in shoes, so it's not terribly surprising to me that they don't feel super comfortable to wear. It's definitely improved over time, and even with the original insoles I had comfort issues with these shoes for some time so I may eventually get used to them more. This is the only reason I'm docking a star.
Conclusion:
If you've got knee issues, it's worth getting these or similar ones just to try. $20-$40 is absolutely worth a test drive of something that could help reduce or prevent soft-tissue injuries. For me, even the foot discomfort is absolutely worth keeping my knee in order to do the other things I love.
This is my second Drop getting the Sole Works Footbeds and I use them for all of my hiking boots, work shoes, and swap them over to my tennis shoes as needed. I'm flatfooted and have relied on drugstore grade soles that last for about 3 months and that provide a certain level of cushion but no contour. The Sole Work Footbeds provides both which stimulates blood circulation and my feet simply last longer. The first three pair of soles I bought have functioned well over a year without any wear that decrease their performance so I picked up two more pairs to not having to swap them back and forth between other shoes. Strongly recommended.
Good replacement insoles for work boots/shoes. Easy to trim for size & heat for molding to foot. Good arch support. More cushioning would make them perfect for me. Will buy again.
I don't get to sit down on the job, but with my current work shoes, I never really felt I needed more support. My feet never hurt too much after even a long work day. I bought these because the price was reasonable, and I wanted to see how much an improvement they would make, and if I was "missing out".
Like others have said, they're a bit thicker than the store page makes them seem, but it isn't a deal breaker in my case. They're comfortable, and I do notice the change they make. However, as I didn't really have a problem before, they don't do much to improve upon the work shoes' support in the first place. If you have problems with sore feet and feel like this is something you need, I can guarantee these will do great in helping that problem. If it's a non-issue for you right now, I can say you're not really missing out on anything, and these won't do all that much for you.
I am a avid Zumba Fitness enthusiast averaging three classes per week, sometimes four. There is many different movements associated your dance steps, i,e, lateral, forward, lunges, etc. all done to the beat of upbeat Latin music.
I have noticed my balance to be much better with the Sole Work Footbeds. I hope that the DROP offers them on a recurring basis as I already have four pairs and I am now planiing to buy at least four more pairs. These are awesome!
