I own the floor standing version of these stands (you might too--the same product is labeled and marketed under various names and manufacturers). I can tell you this about them right up front: A) they work, and B) they will ugly-up your your listening space like nobody's business! I purchased mine to stand on either end of my desk and to support a pair of JBL 3 Series powered monitors (purchased right here, on this very site, before it all went hell in a Bento box--but I digress). As for the stands, the tall ones wobble, have big, easy to trip over, ugly feet and provide no solution to hide the cables or power cords. This version, the clamping type, will probably be more stable (so long as you don't use them at the highest/tallest adjustment), but won't give back all of the desk space your speakers take up now (assuming that was part of the goal--as it was when I purchased my set). Aesthetics aside, will they improve your listening experience? Possibly--if your desk is flimsy and prone to vibration, then yes (although purpose-built foam, isolation pads can resolve that issue for less money and a lot less ugly). On the other hand, if placing your speakers/monitors higher up to more closely correspond with the height of your ears, then certainly yes. There are definite advantages to having your tweeters at ear-level. However, caution is still advised--the stands will likely provide the height you need, but overall stability could still be a concern--unless you're the careful type (like me). Speaking of stabiLity (the fine art of not inadvertently knocking your speakers to the ground, regardless of how intoxicated your are), I eventually moved my JBLs back to my desk, and put the floor stands to use supporting a new pair of fairly heavy Edifier S3000 Pro monitors in an adjoining listening space and, knock on wood, there have been no mishaps (the ugly factor notwithstanding). They work in that application and being floor-standers allow for more vertical adjustment, but oddly, only in the UP direction. Meaning enven at their lowest setting they are still 39 inches above floor level. Of course, I'm not the type to host rockus rave up parties nor let large numbers of inebriated strangers into my listening space. If perhaps you are, or even worse, have children, I'd advise appropriate precautions. All that said, I'll leave you with this: as a quick fix solution, these stands will do the job and the price is certainly affordable (whether purchased here or elsewhere), there's no denying that. As mentioned, I've been suffering with a distant cousin of these stands (used in two applications) for several years. During that time I have suffered mightily from their ugliness, and have spent countless hours searching for better looking stands. To that end, yesterday the UPS man delivered a pair of very heavy and very white, "Kanto SX22W Universal Fillable Speaker Floor Stands" to my doorstep. By comparison, they are 100x heavier and 1,000x times better looking than the abominations I'm using now. They also cost as much as a low to mid-grade turntable. They require assembly of course, and that will take some time and a few cocktails to accomplish, but in the end, they should allow me to banish those ugly black, skinny, big-footed, wobbly stands back to the garage from whence they came!!! I hope your journey to find an acceptable set of stands turns out as well ;- )

Priced at $50, which is exactly what they're priced for on Amazon with free Prime 2-day shipping...?

No possibility for me to see a price... Awful. What are we talking about here a $30 object, since a full tripod costs $50 and this is just a section... Or what? No reference, no request, for sure
