Frustratingly Mediocre.
The major flaw here is that the tilt adjustment is tightened with a plastic hand screw. You’ll probably break it before getting it tight enough to really lock it down. That is a shame because the height adjustment is actually pretty nice. There is a large confidence-inspiring security pin that prevents the platform from dropping vertically which encourages you to bring your tweeters right up to ear level, but as I mentioned, you probably won’t be able to keep the speakers flat and level, so they’ll wind up aiming down at your chest. I disassembled these stands completely looking for any way to prevent this and wound up with a DIY solution of placing wood shims in the gap between the platform and support column to minimize the potential tilt angle to within just a few degrees. The manufacturer should have machined the holes in this column such that the rod could be inverted or otherwise fitted into a configuration without the tilt feature. Further, there are QC issues. Both of my support platforms arrived with decently sized and easily noticeable scratches (gashes really) across the top surface. Even for the discounted price, I’d bet there are better options available elsewhere.

roflryanIf you want more adjustment, try roughing up the anodizing on the metal pivot brackets (I used 80 grit sandpaper) and add a metal washer between the plastic screw and bracket. Worked for me! Still regret paying $70 for these things...
