I don't see why are people complaing about the build quality of these headphones, I bought my son (13 at that time) this headphone as a Christmas gift. He's been using this headphones everyday on his way to school and back, uses it as his gaming headphones as well. Hell it even survived a trip to the Philippines for a month.
The only complain he have on this headphones is the material that it has on the earcup, the one with the touch sensitve controls is... well too sensitive. It turns off the noise cancelling or turns on the ambient noise mic when you lean on it. So let's say your trying to sleep on a table and you lean on the right side of the headphone to your arms it will disable the noise cancelling. And another complain he has is the leather/pleather on the earcups is breaking apart beacuse of sweat which is normal after almost two years of use.
But for the price MD is offering for tthis drop? Don't bother... you can get the XM2's which addressed the touch sensitive earcup issue and other improvements for the same price that MD is offering.

This drop makes me wonder if people on MD did some research or something regarding this product and it's current market value. OR maybe this drop is just a way of MD mind conditioning us consumer so that when they drop the WH-100XM2 seems like a real steal. Just like on malls where they markup items off season and return the original price on promo season in guise of 'SALE'.

Ive seen the successor to this (WH-100XM2) on Amazon for $298.99 many a times. Why is an outdated and discontinued model on a so called "drop" ?

Have these and love it (no issues with the handband fitting my large-ish head - for reference I use a very snug L sized motorcycle helmet)
However I paid way less than this price when I got it. For $199 this would be good (since as others have pointed out, a new version has been released last year)

SiNuAgeJust noticed a crack by the hinge near my L ear-muff. Doesn't seem to affect anything.

This is so NOT a MassDrop anymore!!!
Common MD this is outrageous, who is in charge of this? Nowadays people can buy the newer model for the same (or even cheaper) price. We used to have this model for sale at $210 because it's old plus all the construction issues.
Here is the link where is the newer model cost $269 (WH-1000XM2)!!!
