You're a weird one. Subjectiveness doesn't necessarily have to be back up by action of any kind, I don't need closed back headphones, I have competent CIEMs for use when travelling - both at home and at the office I can and use open backs. I was not defending the Sony's, I don't think they're worth their asking price, the sole point I was making is that value is what you make of it on a personal level and people like different things.
If I were to buy any it'd be the AEON, their sound signature is in between the Ethers and the Z1R and their price to performance ratio is much higher. MrSpeakers' headphones are fantastic, I'm a huge fan of Dan's, not too big on the Ethers personally as they don't have my preferred sound signature and they are expensive, I much rather the sound of the Z1R when the price is equiparable.
This why there's such an expansive and diverse market for audio devices, not everyone likes the same kind of signature. Get over it.
If weird makes me different from you, I accept the compliment. First of all, you went on the offensive with your comment. I was stating my (admittedly) subjective opinion. What is music about but subjectivity? So, get over that.
I own the Ether C, plus another dozen high-end headphones. I bought the AEON and it was so disappointing I had to return it. It was closed, low volume, and bland. That had production issues from the start. Frankly, I was tired of that. It is curious that there is no place to comment on those headphones on MrSpeakers site.
1250 shipped and insured your choice of stock or electrostat pads (I own both). Or 1300 with both pads (pads are 80 new, this headphone has roughly 40 hours use both pads a mixture of that time, they are basically brand new).
pics w/ electrostat pads on, default pads are in the same, basically new shape.
selling b/c these are just heavier than what I want and I don't like their clamp, and because I'm happy with headphones half the price to be honest.
