Same boat as you, I've been through alot of TOTL headphones I settled on the Z7s and focal elears as my endgame. Great sound from both.

I have both HD650 and Z7 and the the Z7 is much much better for classicalmusic and other art music genres. I've used three different amps and two DACs to compare. Ergonomically the Sony's are also much better than the Senns. They're more comfortable and feel lighter on the head even though they are said to way a bit more. The Z7 is also made of better materials. There's a 120 page Modding manual circulating online for the Z7 that features inexpensive options that improve the sound by dampening resonances in the ear cups with tape you can buy off Amazon for a couple bucks. So the bass can be tightened very easily if that were a problem. The bass does not sound bloated or farty out of a Magni 3 unmodded.
