I wasted 532 UDS on the big brother 7520 getting them shipped from US to Norway since they aren't for sale here due to too high sensitivity. They are boomy bass cannons, and for me as a metal fan this is totally unacceptably. For reference I have the MDR v6 and they are much better even with their v shape signature.
I absolutely love my MDR-7506's and prefer them over my Beyerdynamic DT770s and many other headphones, but after reading reviews it does not look like many people prefer these 7510s over their older sibling.
BTW, if you have a set of MDR-7506's get the Beyerdynamic DT250 Velour pads for your 7506's. It makes them luxurious to listen to, far better then the pleather pads. I do not believe the Beyer velour pads fir the 7510, due to the larger ear cup.
Ath-Pro500MK2 is really bass heavy made for DJ's
Ath-M50 more neutral butI find a bit more bass heavy comparing to other competitors
The MDR-7506 sounds neutral and amazing and have been trusted by recording artists for monitor uses all over the world for decades..... the MDR-7510 is an upgraded version of that.
Personally tested 7506 in japan and absolutely loved it... too bad I didn't buy it.. but if the 7510 reaches it lowest point.... i'll consider it
How do these compare to either the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x or the ATH-Pro500MK2?
Need some closed cans for work, but really struggling to decide! Thanks
ADuplitoThey still sell as normal in Asia (Japan and Malasya especially) and they come with a price tag of about 150$ over there.
On Amazon we get it for about 190$ which is not bad but a bit too expansive imo.
