I agree with @lastzero and @djsumdog that this is a much outdated camera already by the likes of its competitors and the current market.
The Alpha A6300 is the new camera in line going at $999 body only at Amazon and Best Buy. The Alpha A6000 body is not a bad alternative going for $548 at Amazon. There is even the A5000 with the 18-55mm lens for around $450 at Amazon, B&H, Best Buy, Frys, and Walmart. Heck, even the A3000 with 18-55mm lens, which was recently cleared from shelves at Frys and Walmart a couple months ago, was going for around $350.
Of course, if you're going for price, this might be worth it. But considering the outdated features of the F3, I'd suggest going for the Alpha line.

In case nobody else noticed: the pictures for this drop do not match the description. The pictures show a Sony NEX-3N (you can see the branding in some of them), but the description is for a NEX-F3. IIRC, the F3 had a slightly deeper grip, a proprietary Sony accessory port, higher resolution LCD, and larger non-power-zoom 18-55 kit lens. The 3N dropped the former features and included the newer Sony kit lens, a compact power-zoom 16-50.
My first ILC was actually a NEX-F3 from a close-out sale at Best Buy. I think it has relatively fantastic image quality and the feature set was really quite amazing for its day. Besides WiFi, it only really lacked the on-sensor phase detect AF of the contemporary NEX-5 series models (limited as that was), but did include a basic built-in flash to compensate. Simultaneous support for both the built-in flash and the external EVF (Sony # FDA-EV1S) is quite nice in the right circumstances. The NEX-3N was actually quite a step down in features when it launched. I guess Sony realized it had over-specced the budget model and tried to correct that.
My sister has a 3N and likes it, although I consider it a clearly inferior model. I didn't notice any improvement in AF speed or ergonomics, although there might have been some additional "filter" effects or something added. I would consider the F3 still a decent deal at the $249.99 drop price, but I wouldn't recommend the 3N for that same price (if the pictures trump the description). In any case, both models are outdated now, and the a6000 is outstanding value if you don't mind spending a little more.

bredeker@ Everyone,
@bredeker is correct in saying that the images are incorrect and they should be for the Sony NEX-F3K instead of the Sony NEX-3N . The description accurately describes the product for this drop and the correct images will be up shortly. Our apologies if this caused any inconvenience or misunderstanding.
