Sony PCM-D100 Portable Recorder
Upgraded Recorder With DSD
A powerful little tool for recording concerts, interviews, and other documentary elements, the Sony PCM-D100 has many of the same features as the beloved PCM-D50, plus some serious improvements in the sound department. It’s solidly made and easy to navigate, with built-in electret condenser microphones and internal audio circuitry (both upgraded from the D50), and a mini jack for external mics. It’s one of the few compact machines that supports DSD recording, as well as LPCM sampling rates up to 24 bit/192 kHz, and MP3 at 128 or 320 kbps.
This drop is limited to 6 units.

Better Sound, Longer Sessions
For LPCM and MP3 recordings, the PCM-D50 offers digital pitch control (which maintains pitch while slowing or increasing playback speed) and key control (which allows you to change the pitch while maintaining playback speed). Features include a limiter, low-cut filter, five-second pre-record buffer, cross-memory recording, Super Bit Mapping, and A-B repeat capability. In addition to its 32 gigabytes of internal memory (up from 4 gigabytes on the D50), this recorder accepts the gamut of memory sticks and SD cards up to 64 gigs. Finally, four standard AA batteries will carry you through long sessions between charges: up to 25 hours at 16 bit/44.1 kHz and 12 hours at DSD 2.8.
