moenadwhen I sent to Newegg the only ones priced at $279 were the refurbished ones. You are correct though. From their home page you end up $279 = refurbished but what you are referring to is a flash sale and not the refurbished.
moenadNot really sure why Massdrop even exists any more. I thought the whole idea was that people would get discounts in exchange for ordering in bulk as a group and waiting. Their prices are not competitive. They should just rename themselves to Masswait.
moenadWell, you _do_ need to be a NewEggFlash subscriber, but yes that is the price for new right now ('til the end of this Drop!) from the Egg. I tried a pair for 2 weeks, the ANC was quite good - superb, really. With SonicWorks TruFi and my S9, they go from ok to very good on sound. Sort of never got used to the touch controls, though. I'll blame me, but I'm happier with the buttons on my MDR-ZX770BN. Don't travel anymore, don't really have an excuse for that great ANC - mowing the lawn just doesn't, well, cut it. Still, combined with TruFi, they make a damn fine set of travelling headphones, IMNSHO. The warranty issue, though? I'd get from a Sony dealer. Really.
moenadThe newegg flash ones are refurbished most definitely. At the bottom it says LIKE NEW items. Plus you also pay taxes $274 +, same as this $290 and this are new.
gbaldafNo they were not, it was a flash deal and under flash.newegg.com not at newegg.com where you can purchase used products. I bought 2 pairs from their deal and they're brand new sealed with a 1 year warranty. If you're from NJ, you're gonna pay taxes anyway.
moenadI know it was under flash, and it did said LIKE NEW at the bottom. I even tried to price match with Best Buy and they told me they cant with flash.newegg because most of the time items are refurbished.
If they are indeed NEW, then they should improve their communications and avoid making dumb mistakes like that and lose sales.
