Delivery still at least a week away, for a grand total wait of 6+ weeks. Credible claims of the items being refurbs, terrible email support and no community outreach support.
Despite 2 other great Drops, this one is *SO* bad it's turned me off Massdrop forever. Ironically, a company makes a customer for life when there's a bad scenario, but only if the response is brilliant.
I suggest everyone stay well away from this drop in future, and consider all drops as risky propositions where if things go bad, acceptable support is hard to come by.
Stephen2I got mine last week, and there's significant hissing in the left ear cup when NC is on. I know that can happen with some NC headphones, but this is pronounced only in one ear, has gotten worse over the last week, and is present when music is playing, muddying the audio quality.
Just reached out to MD about getting a replacement. As a first-time buyer who was pumped about this site, I really hope they pull through with the customer service.
So these are definitely refurbished models, or at least some are. Mine came with a USB-C cable even though it charges with micro USB. Could have saved $20 and a lot of time by just buying the refurbished from Amazon if I'd known I wasn't getting new :/
Pity, I got this pair for $305 two months ago.
But it doesn't ship to where I live anyways.
Quick review:
If you own these then there are no reason to upgrade to the M3 (asides from securing a decent resale price)
The M3 has slightly better bass and details, only slightly.
Has USB-C fast charging which is great, but still does not work as a DAC theough USB-C
Still does not play well with multi-device pairing.
I'm sticking to my M2 for the time being. (Got a pair after my QC30 took seven months to get repaired.)
