I'm an owner of the mark 1's, these are just the same with what I have. SONY just changed the materials they have used for the earcups (from sort of matte but is quite a fingerprint magnet, to a textured matte finish) and the headband plastic (look up 1000x headband cracks, yup, they changed that)
These are good headphones with great noise cancellation. Not bass heavy since it has no gimmicks like bass boost etc and it seals good. I do have a problem with these when I commute. The noise-cancellation picks up the vibrations of the buses I'm riding (air-conditioned buses) and amplifies the reverb of that vibration. The solution is to just turn-off ANC and turn it on again when I get off.
