Great on fuel, it will burn a canister down to nothing. Not glacier tested yet, but had it up around 4-5,000ft and no issues. If you are only boiling water for rehydrating food its great. I was averaging about 1 oz a day boiling 2-3 times a day. I'll probably burn allot more when I actually have to melt snow. Left on a 4 night trip with half a Prius canister and still had fuel when I got home.
great stove
I have , msr and snow peak
the 4 prong burner is great and good support
The group next to me had their pot knocked over
My pot was ok and I didnt use my gas container feet I usually use
But I wish the valve was a little more......
I opened and tried to start , then again, again , again and pulled out the matches
Finally gave up and pulled out my spare Esbit stove
Then while cooking tried to figure it out and realized have to open up the valve alot to get it going
But it was a little bit hard to get it simmering
Rvl12FYI that is by design. Valve is completely off, with no leaking, for the first three turns. Other stoves will release gas immediately. Great stove, and a great deal here! Wish I hadn't already purchased awhile back!
I have been using an MSR Whisperlite white gas stove. This one is so much lighter and compact. Boils water wuickly!

Nicer than Amicus, but taller
The Soto Windmaster is a great gas canister backpacking stove for when you need just bare essentials, or for a go bag. The piezo ignition works reliably, it's lightweight and compact. The pot support is only slightly complicated, but sturdy once attached. Nice to have the regulator to help control the flame, and the concave burner does indeed protect against breezes that would make other stoves much less effective. Only downside is that it's pretty tall, so make sure you bring a canister stand to avoid unintended capsizes.
I have probably used close to a dozen different stoves in all of my backpacking ventures and this one is by far my favorite. It is rugged, lightweight, and impossible to get blown out by the wind. Definitely spend the money on this one, you will not regret it.
High quality and craftsmanship. Heats water superfast. Click sparker works great. I highly recommend the triflex pot support. Very even burner flame. Quietest stove I own
