So I got the Sennheiser HD6xx (HD650) and was looking for a dac amp combo that I could also do a modmic attachment to it and use my headphones when playing games online. That way I can get rid of my other "gaming" headphones that are just horrible and that I'm only using them for the microphone feature. So I was looking at the Sound BlasterX G5 and the fact I can do that on this and connect it to my game system makes me want to buy it, but how does this compare to other dac amp combo's that don't have a mic input for the same price? Is there a cheaper option that's somewhat on par with this?

So my question is; would it be better to get say ASUS Strix Wireless vs this plus a pair of currently undecided headphones if games are my main focus?

SiranKaridefinitely buy a good pair of studio headphones allong with your amp+dac, personally I use the beyerdynamic dt 990 pro 250 ohm paired with the mayflower arc amp+dac (I'm a console gamer)

So this is advertised as being console compatible, but when I use it with my Xbox it does not detect my microphone. Is this an issue with my Xbox or the g5?

Bulk order shipped! The vendor informed us that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse in New Jersey. Based on the tracking provided, the order is scheduled to arrive on 1/9.

Awaiting confirmation! We are still in contact with the vendor and just awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We have a call scheduled first thing Tuesday morning and should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect the group's individual packages to ship.

We've been in touch with the vendor regarding the group's order and they've let us know that they are still working to gather and package the group's order for individual shipment to each of you. We will continue to check in with them throughout the fulfillment process and update the group again as soon as everything is sent out!

Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Sound BlasterX G5 7.1 HD Audio Sound Card and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 1/9.
