The amount of entitled whining thin this thread makes me ashamed to be part of this community.
Comon guys, Massdrop has NO say in whether they can ship this internationally or not. Just be glad they caught the problem so early in the drop. If you need to go whine to someone about it, whine to SoundMAGIC directly.
Massdrop is always coming out with new drops. I'm sure there will be another in less than a month that's very similar to this one with a similar price. The Q701 for $150 wasn't that long ago, after all.

StillhartI agree - Massdrop are the ones trying to get items shipped - seem to be damned if they do and damned if they don't. I have emailed SoundMagic directly - it is they (and in Australia) the companies with the high mark ups who are responsible - sold here for $399 inc shipping from an internet only based company - mostly about protectionism I would think.

StillhartMassdrop should know in which markets they're allowed to sell their offerings before making them available to sign up for.
Soundmagic have their distributor agreements around the world to honor and must of course do so.
I'm an importer/distributor myself and I'm very well aware of in which markets I'm allowed to offer my products. It's basic knowledge and I cannot see how Soundmagic colud be the ones to blame here.

peter123Agreed 100%. Most manufacturers have rules to protect vendors and distributors in each region. Without such agreements, the manufacturer in many cases would cease to exist. To blame SoundMAGIC is ludicrous since their rules, which are not surprising and unique, did not come into existence five days ago. The Massdrop apologists need to realize that the issue at hand is that the drop went live either before those rules were properly understood or they were simply ignored out of hand. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy this site exists and want it to continue to succeed (especially through working directly with manufacturers and not unknown vendors) and put downward pressure on pricing in general, but I'd like them to have all their ducks in a row before going live with a drop.

peter123My point is not to BLAME anyone. It is what it is. Sucks for some people, but there will be other drops. It's not the end of the world. Don't have to turn it into some big "I'm never using MD again" kind of thing just because they had the wrong thing up for 24 hours.
