So, this is kinda new to me - not a lotta discussions?
Are there any dangers of crushin' fingers/hands with the strength of two of these magnetic balls coming into contact? Askin' for a friend who might not keep these at a desk and instead maybe let offspring play with them... Are these less brittle than the hematite "rattlesnake eggs" which sometimes chip when two of them happen to slam together (so I'm told)? And is this a deal where, since the initial price is already lower than what you can find elsewhere, then there's no lower price after a certain number of folks join the drop? Thanks!

okesterThey don't pose any danger of crushing fingers, as these aren't high powered magnets. They are the same hematite magnets that "rattle snake eggs" are made of. We haven't seen any chipping.

ZenMagnetsHematite is an iron oxide. The description clearly states that these are rare earth magnets, probably neodymium. I won’t rule out the possibility that these are “both,” but if the product description is true then these are not made solely of hematite.
