This is a good system and I've used it many times but there are some serious flaws (tripod mounting being one of them). I have had much better usability and success using the Peak Design Capture Pro. Much better product. Much more versatile. It also lets you use a tripod mount. They also have a range of products for accessory management.

Once you put something like this on a camera, you lose the ability to quickly mount it on a tripod, correct? Seems like it's good if you don't mount a heavy lens or any other heavy accessories and will go handheld 100% of the time.

Awesome! Should be added on the description. I didn't realize there's a picture showing the camera with a tripod plate. At first I thought it was part of the grip and wouldn't let you mount your own plate.
