Center of gravity is too high. This is a wobbler. I would not waste my money, especially because you can get a Vorso for about the same money for this copper version and it will spin at least 10 minutes.

DesastorI think the relatively slim profile and resultant high center of gravity is part of what makes this pocketable over the Vorso. I have the vorso, and I'm sure it spins longer, but I have yet to carry it anywhere because it is not pocket friendly.

lobsterIf you want something "pocket friendly" you might as well go for the Forever Spin but they are as crappy as this model. If you want something for you pocket that actually spins longer than a few minutes, MD had previously offered a copper top for about the same price w/a ruby that is similar to the Vorso, but a bit smaller. I cannot remember the name as it was by a guy who was doing them in his garage, but the top is fairly reasonable in spin time; although difficult to spin d/t its size and the size of the ruby. The Spiffy's strike me as someone jumping on the proverbial bandwagon to make some doe. But whatever strikes your fancy.

DesastorI'm getting the copper version to see for myself how it spins. I like this version over the forever spin because it has more mass--almost 3x the wt in same material. I'm certain the magnesium and aluminum versions of this top will not spin well, but I'm hoping the copper being 5x the mass of the mg version will make it an adequate spinner. The unique shape of the top is also some of the appeal.

lobsterGreat. Give it a whirl and report back. Would be helpful to get some data and reviews, including comparisons, on this one.
Good luck

DesastorAh yes, the Forever Spin, one of the most inaccurately named items ever. More like the "90 Seconds of Wobble." Sigh.

Riku964Lol. Seriously ? I was thinking of purchasing a couple of those. Thanks for the heads up. So far, I own a Vorso MK1 and a Lambda Brass. I might purchase one more and stop there (I hope). Three spinning tops should be enough in my opinion. Thanks again for the advice on the Forever Spin. You saved me from a bout of disappointment. :-)

Grendelking36My Lambda is right here on my desk. Great spin times, easy to get a good spin! My Forever Spin tops in copper and stainless, well, let's just say they don't see a lot use. (Like none, ever.) Not a good investment unless you really liked Inception and just want a similarly shaped piece of useless metal.

Grendelking36BTW....Foreverspin tops are beautiful Centuries old design. As if nature designed a top. Sure they only spin for a few minutes, not forever as the name might imply, but they look great, are fun to spin and not too expensive. If you collect, get a copper brass or stainless....with one of their ceramic spin station. A top doesn't need to spin for 10 minutes to be fun. JMHO

Grendelking36Foreverspins are probably the most user-technique dependent tops currently out there. They take a lot of practice to master, given the spindle design isn't anywhere near as accommodating as those with some form of knurling. That being said, IMO nothing comes close in terms of how they look when they level out (spinning motionless with no wobble). I have the Copper, Nickel, and SS Mirror versions and can get 4:30, 4:00 and 3:30 min spins on them respectively. There are times when my finger tips are just too dry (usually due to lack of humidity in my place) and it takes a few tries to get a good spin going. I would say if you're looking at Foreverspin tops, just get one, of the three I've mentioned I'd go with either the copper or SS Mirror (Nickel is a bit too pricey) and be prepared to put in some effort. I honestly think people who slam Foreverspin tops have poor technique, like they try spinning them with little to no torque and then just give up. Once you get good at spinning one, I think you'll find it'll improve your spin time with other tops (muscular fingers bro). Just my two cents.

DesastorAgreed. I just see a bit too much brand bashing here and on other forums. Unjustified, I think. Any top you own and spin, your goal may be to beat your best time with that top. You can do this with Foreverspin too and not wait 10+ minutes for your next try. And they do look beautiful when spinning and appearing motionless. Again...JMHO
