Spyderco’s line of Chaparral folders is intended to celebrate the diversity of different handle materials. The models featured here have titanium handles with various patterns for a sophisticated look. Made from CTS-XHP, which is similar to 440C but harder for better edge retention, the blade is polished to a satin finish to complement the handle. A jimped ricasso connects the top of the handle with the base of the blade for choking up during detail work. Thanks to the lockback, the edge will stay put whether you’re cutting open a letter or slicing a thick piece of rope. The Chaparral features a tip-up clip that can be flipped to the other side for left-handed carry. These models are composed entirely of straight lines, even though they have a curved appearance. The scale-making process on them is the most intensive in the entire Spyderco lineup.
