Exactly the same knife for exactly the same price at Blade HQ. Plus, they will engrave it for 8 bucks. And yes, it ships free. So, what's the deal here?

You probably got it cheaper because you actually had a coupon, which doesn’t happen every day

I don't understand the benefit of getting this knife from this site. The price is no better than the everyday price from several websites all of which have it in stock now, and will ship it much faster than Drop. There used to be a benefit from getting it from this site (better price, special edition, etc.). I'm just not seeing that lately. Am I missing something?

"Am I missing something?" Yes, you and I and the rest are missing deals... good deals that once were found on a website called "Massdrop." That site no longer exists.

There is a mistake in the product specs. It says "Blade thickness: 0.125 mm (3 mm)" and I think it is meant to say "Blade thickness: 0.125 in (3 mm)"

I bought the Delica version of this knife a few years ago and was sorely disappointed. Opening it was extremely gritty and oil didn't help. Finally I took it apart and found the problem. When they etched the damascus blade they didn't cover the area for the bushings, resulting in the area around the pivot, which should've been smooth to rub on the bronze bushings, being as rough as a file. The etching was far too deep to smooth out. Very shoddy! Since I took it apart the warranty was null so it's lived in a drawer ever since.

This is a different knife than the delica. If you’re going to review a knife, don’t review it because “you had a knife technically the same” as it. That’s like buying a cheap pair of adidas that fall apart after a month, then review a much more premium quality and more expensive pair of adidas because “it’s technically the same thing”. I haven’t actually bought the knife myself, but you should buy it before you say if it’s bad or good.

I have this exact knife but in the Delica model that I bought discounted on Amazon. I like it. Very solid feel and super sharp. Havent used it long enough to say how robust the blade is. Wish it was looser opening. Tried loosening screws but made no difference. Tight due to the stiff lock. Dont know if there's a mod for this. I read similar comments on reviews for this knife. Also, the Delica blade is a bit too small to my liking. So this larger model is better IMO. Ordered some Italian flipper on here a couple of weeks ago so will carry that one next to compare. Regarding the Damascus, it really makes the knife. Everything else is very plain which sets off the blade nicely. I also liked the fact is was made in Japan from an old knife company versus China ot Taiwan.

This isn’t the delica. If you review an item, like i’ve said to someone who did the same thing on this page, you should have the knife itself, not something ‘similar’
