The compact Lil Lum Nishijin folder is a scaled-down version of the Lum Chinese Folder, a knife that pays homage to the traditional Chinese Shilin Cutter. Featuring a bamboo leaf–shaped blade with Spyderco’s signature thumb hole, the Lil Lum boasts excellent edge geometry. The blade’s VG-10 construction gives it good edge retention and allows it to stand up to wear. But really, the handle is where this majestic folder stands out. Made with electric blue Nishijin glass fiber scales, it looks every bit as impressive as it performs. Nishijin is a traditional method of textile weaving, another ode to Chinese history. Built into the handle are holes for ambidextrous tip-up carry, but you can just as easily remove the pocket clip and go bare if you like, too.
