lack of plain edges versions is a no-go for me. Currently 7 bought and 11 people committed and out of plain edge. Makes me believe there is a higher demand for the plain edge than the combo edged ones...

defgCombo edges are useless except where you need to cut synthetic ropes or webbing belt type materials. For bushcraft/survival a combo edge is more likely to get you killed than save you IMHO. I have the Manix 2 plain edge and it is a great EDC powers through the jobs and a quick strop of an evening she is ready to rock on again. Also excellent for light bushcraft camp tasks.

OneAndAllWhy some survival specialists are useing combo edge, why rescue use full serrated edge?
Serrated edge has own cutting ability
Of cours batoning, chopping is not quite clean and easy as plane edge is. But it doesn't mean impossible to do that.
You want easy and clean one?
But It's survival! Dirty? Clean? Uncomfortable? Doesn't matter Cuz you said survival.
Just you get your camping or prepare something It is good to do every thing by your choice
But, For everybody? It's just little tiny opinion.
Your thinking is not the answer.
Of cours. So do I
there's so so many kinds of situations, styles, preferences, opinions
It's on the handles, and handlers
Not no the Edge style.
Nothing is perfect for something
What ever.
