So I guess the rule of thumb around here is to ignore the MSRP entirely—or, at the very least, to remember that you can often get the exact same thing elsewhere for the same price, and receive it far sooner.
Seriously, though, Massdrop. How is this a drop?

ArcendusIf you decline the case you subtract $15. I really wish MD would make this more clear. You went to the trouble of posting links and doing this research trying to help out.

LimeGreenYetiYa, not very clear, only accented by a pretty teal box around the text.

ArcendusSpyderco MAP pricing. They legally cannot advertise it for less. Notice how there is no competition in the prices at all? They are all the same. Welcome to MAP.

namhodWell we see this happening a lot with MAP priced Spyderco knives, so maybe a brighter pretty teal box?

LimeGreenYetiThat is "worth" maybe $30-40 so we can decline it and actually save money to make up for the shipping time. Sounds good.
Either way, we can't blame Massdrop for MAP, it isn't their doing. Focus on the good prices we get on other knives and pick up a Spyderco or two on a slight discount. Or just wait for another Spyderco blue box!

ArcendusI was going to say the same thing. Not a drop at all!
