I got tired of sharpening my EDC knives because I couldn't open packages. Did a little bit of research and got this knife. I've had it a while now and haven't ever sharpened it. It is still sharp enough to cut yourself on. Initial impression was that the knife was a bit big but not much bigger than the knife I was already carrying.

Love it, PM2 is the perfect size for me. I have no complaints about chipping as I'm aware the S110V isn't the one to use for prying or other non cutting actions as I have a benchmade in M4 for that. This thing will eat paper, cardboard or tape if that's the desired outcome.

I absolutely loved my knife from the moment which I unwrapped it. I carried it for two weeks straight, whether on work, or out-and-about, running errands. On one of my calls at work, a fire captain needed a tool to prior open a window screen. The PM2 seemed like the ideal tool. The screen came out without a hitch, and thirty minutes later, after we were cancelled on the call, I realized that the tip broke in removing the screen. Paint me surprised, but I did not believe that there was a snow ball's chance in hell of it being damaged in such a simple procedure. I suppose I could find the silver lining, and state that it provides the knife character; however, truth be told, I'm simply disappointed. I ASSUMED a super steel would be able to lift a window screen without risk of damage. All of that aside, I love the knife, and I would still recommend it.

Jeff0500S110V isn't the strongest steel and the tip is so sharp it's delicate. It's not good for prying as you saw and is good for corrosion resistance, edge, and extreme edge retention. Much better steels for tac work and multi purpose.

ruinerMy ESEE agrees. It's been my camping, kindling workhorse and while it shows some wear, it keeps on keeping on.

The knife itself is amazing; it's light, comfortable, quick to open and close. The only downside is the difficulty in sharpening the thing. Being a somewhat experienced knife sharpener who can regularly take edges to hair whittling / popping, wet paper-towel push-cutting performance. The S110V steel on this blade is ridiculously tough stuff, and while I can get the blade "sharp", I've never been able to bring the edge up to my own (absurd?) standards. Consequently, I much prefer my CTS-XHP and M390 blades for their toughness and corrosion resistance, without the frustration and stone wear of working with S110V. Furthermore, if I WERE ever able to achieve a hair-whittling edge with this knife, the work involved with doing so would mean I'd probably never use the knife as an EDC.
TL;DR: Excellent knife for most people, just don't expect to ever get the blade super sharp.

neuroplexusYou definitely can. I use KME and it shaves no problem. Push’s through paper as well.

neuroplexusDiamonds are your friends with s110v and several other super steels think maxamet. All you have to do is threaten the steel with diamonds and it sheds its burr and rolls over sharp. Gritomatic sells great diamond stones in one x six size that do the job well. Lesser steels sharpen up just knowing you have the stones.

Small chip after re-shaping a worn bamboo spatula, not sure if this batch has some heat treat issues or if its normal for s110v... I was using para2 and native5 interchangeably (same steel) and native didn't chip. other than that 10/10, action is super smooth...

Love the Para mili 2. As for being 'large' for EDC, it's smaller than the fixies I EDC. I got a set of them and they are definitely not too big for pocket carry without issue.

Love the knife but the blade chipped just below the tip on like day 3 and the is already done rust on the blade. Other than that 10/10

More like burnt edge than bad HT. It happens from time to time.

LoremicusIpsuminusThat's a possibility, but the rust is really strange. But on a knife of this price, it should not happen.

Just perfect. It is pretty large though, so I prefer the Para 3 for everyday, but no denying the pm2 is just awesome.

The PM2 (in my opinion) is one of the great knives in Spyderco's more affordable line. Massdrop made it more desirable than ever to get another one. The color is sweet as well.

Great knife, great steel -- just a tad to big and heavy for my EDC tastes, but i knew that going in.
