Spyderco Para Military 2 S35VN Knife (Black Blade)

Spyderco’s Para Military 2 is a mainstay in the EDC community and even more advanced than its popular predecessor. Featuring a narrower handle for a tighter grip, a thinner profile to simplify cutting at difficult angles, a compression lock, and a four-way ambidextrous clip, the Para Military 2 improves on an already ergonomic design. The folder is smooth and easy to deploy with the new Bushing Pivot System. Made from S35VN stainless steel, the folder’s longer clip-point blade provides better piercing ability and a longer edge for slicing tasks. Its blade is also enhanced with jimping on the spine and a choil for better grip. Brown G-10 handle scales provide superior grip retention in harsh conditions.

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (pioneer of the integral frame lock, featured on the Gent Select), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process known as Crucible Powdered Metallurgy, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
