What about TSA laws?? Like taking this on an airplane?? LOL I don't think so
Edit - I see where it says the TSA had an idea to allow knifes on planes but was never implemented. Not sure why that was an idea lol

ZaneBecause most knife carriers aren’t looking to stab someone as the reason they carry knives. Pretty sure most people use them exclusively as tools. So allowing people to take their (least “scary”) tool with them on a plane, should be allowed.

ZaneThe flight attendants rebelled against the plan (as they have to deal with a bunch of cell-phone obsessed lunatics already). There was a serious effort to let small knives back on airplanes as functional tools (e.g., cutting apples, trimming threads, cutting paper). Several manufacturers designed ahead expecting a new market, but the plan didn't go through and the knives are still being sold.
TSA may or may not turn a blind eye when this type of knife is buried deep in a carry-on; a few years ago a business acquaintance told me he carried a 2" knife on dozens of flights and was never challenged.

What about the fact that it's fuuuugggllly? Lol
What's the point in the mini spydie hole that's half hidden when closed and looks way too small to get a finger into to open one handed? Or am I wrong about that, is it functional? Looks to me like it'd look much nicer if they left that off and just had the indent out front

KavikDefinitely used as a logo/trademark/whatever design element. To show that, “yeah, it’s a Spyderco”, upon first seeing it. Completely useless in terms of opening the actual knife.

Massdrop, please include country of origin on each and every drop, so we don't have to ask on each and every drop.

Why buy a Roadie at all when you can get a Cold Steel Lucky One for the same price and get ten times more knife; S35VN steel, carbon fiber handle, and a pocket clip. Midway has them for $51.99.

Why buy from Massdrop when BladeHQ and Knife Center have then for the exact same price and Amazon has them a few dollars cheaper?

I have the spyderco kiwi, another of their tiny slipjoint blades, and it is hands down my favorite knife on earth. The mechanism is perfectly weighted so it doesn't feel loose, and the finger slot prevents the blade from closing on your hand. It holds a spectacular edge, it is so quick and easy to deploy and put away versus any locker. I wish it was TSA approved still, because I take it EVERYWHERE. It has been beaten on very hard, too, ran through the wash two dozen times, and the mechanism is still as tight as new.
I have really come to love non locking blades like the svord and higo-no-kami because of spyderco's slipjoint

Interested in trying a sheepsfoot and willing to give the slipjoint a try but either the N690Co and/or the brand name make this too expensive to try out.

Uh, Amazon is over 20% less expensive on this knife. I think you need to have your purchasing people negotiate better.

Does the black version not include the lanyard loop hole or it that just an artifact of preproduction imagery?

OramEvadAmazon's image shows the black with a lanyard hole (and conversely the other colors without). https://www.amazon.com/Spyderco-Roadie-Lightweight-Handles-Plain/dp/B00KQ494ES
Spyderco's website only shows the red color with the hole.
