Looks like they are sold out for the moment, but these have been going in and out of stock at Sierra.com for $111. Hard pass.

FixallSoon as I saw it here, I went straight to Sierra to compare prices. Thought I remembered it being cheaper there. Not listed at the moment, though.

Spyderco makes great knives but they only sometimes make pretty ones. That's a good looking knife.

To be honest, i actually agree with the fact that this one will be more difficult than most, but it's not just because of the recurve (which is the point of contention that I always find humorous) It's the steep shoulder and angle of that ricasso, and no sharpening choil. This is going to require a pretty severe slant in the angle of approach, no matter what sharpening system is used, in order to avoid scratching up parts that aren't meant to touch the stone. Good knife for those that want to show off their sharpening skills, to those who understand the difficulties. Aside from that, it is a pretty sharp looking knife (no pun intended 😁) But i wish they would stop insisting that every knife needs the signature spydie hole. You're right, this one is too small to be useful, and therefore looks quite silly and out of place, IMO.
KavikWow, you're right. I didn't consider that funky plunge or the edge going darn near under the bolster. This would be challenging to sharpen regardless of the recurve.

Finally a drop for a knife that doesn't put your fingers in harm's way. This is the way a liner lock should be.

TheEDCguyTaiwan, That facility produces most of Spyderco's higher end knives. Taiwan's manufacturing standards are top notch, and their economy allows for quality on a budget. America makes the working knives. Japan the Kitchen & Low-end knives.

Since they don't have pics of the blade non-show side, this is made in their Taiwan factory FYI

Agreed. I own several Spyderco knives and Taichung factory consistently produces perfect knives. The best quality production knives Imo. I think most Spyderco fans would concur, which is saying something considering the typical pro US made slant among the knife community.

JakobTaichung consistently have issues with getting a good detent, however. Not an issue for most spydercos, but will be important for a flipper

DAANNG Nice Drop. I got one of these from Spyderco's Factory Outlet last fall at this price, as a Chrismas Gift to my father. It's a fantastic EDC gentleman's knife. But he likes it too much to carry every day.
