what's the benefit of buying from Drop vs other knife specific companies? I thought the whole point of using drop is the benefit of group discount. $234 is the same price elsewhere and I can argue there are few website that you can get cheaper than this.
GoCity$234 may make sense if it’s some kind of DROP exclusive steel or handle material... and yes! If you buy it from other knife speciality companies they likely will by shipped and delivered within a wk.
This Spydie Chef appears to be the non- CQI version with satin not black hardware.
There was reasons for Spyderco to make changes !!
Not a good deal for the unwanted original.
FANTASTIC knife! But the EXACT same price as literally everywhere else. Blade HQ, Amazon, everywhere...find a way to drop the price down to 180$ or less and I’ll instantly buy one. Otherwise, I’ll get mine within the week from blade HQ instead of next month.
Can Drop please confirm if this is the latest version of this with black hardware screws or whether this is some form of old stock sell off with the silver hardware as is shown in the pictures?
I don't know if what you've said is correct with regards to the black hardware, a quick google search did not comfirm that at all, but your certainly wrong about bearings. Its a ceramic dentent ball upgrade, not ceramic bearings, both ride on PB washers in the pivot.
GoodTimesCorrect...I should have caught that. To many other knives with ceramic’s. I had mine verified by DLT knives before purchasing. Then made sure after I received it. I would add an image if I could get a good photo. Heard (here say) later that the black hardware was added to better discern the difference.
OMG, only 7 days left to buy this same knife that is being sold by ALL of the big and small name resellers for the very SAME price. Gee, I better hurry... Really Drop? What have you evolved into, a Retail outlet??? I've bought a lot of knives from you in the early days of Massdrop, but nothing in a very long time. I can't be the only one. Think about it... Think! Think! Think!
DlrmonAnd for the privilege of buying under those fixed pricing terms, someone living in the USA would want to wait until Feb 18th for their product to first ship, when with any other seller they would have product in hand within 3 days (free shipping) in most cases? And if that was someone's business plan being presented to a lender, they wouldn't get their loan either. Help me see their purpose for existing, at least in the name brand knife marketplace. Maybe they have great prices on handkerchiefs that I am not aware of, or potato peelers, but not knives...
