tyler555I think the idea is that it's harder to restrict knives such as flick-knives, or switchblades, without being so specific as to allow a loop-hole. Instead, they generalize and just ban any knife with a blade that locks open. Just need a few people to have well-publicized accidents because they didn't use a locking knife, and call attention to well-intentioned but ridiculous laws.
crec4eSeems reasonable but I've noticed that 'logic' & 'lawmakers' seldom intermingle. Particularly when it comes to "weapons"!
Now if Prince Charles ended up needing stitches from using a non-locking knife...
