I’m done with spyderco . There limiting of availability of certain steels and colors to sprint runs which only people who don’t have to earn a living can snatch up , or knife reviewers get for free ,should piss off any average joe .
Then there’s knifes like spyderco darn dao (Flash Batch) and others that are designed by name brand designers and then they only make 1200 and then never make anymore. These are some of the reasons I’ve move on from spyderco.
Lastly if you’ve been around drop for a for any length of time you can see there’s no compelling reason to do much business with drop anymore.
Not really commenting on Canadian carry laws but noting 5 inches of knife in pocket is too oversized to edc unless you're bushwhacking. Also I don't know if Spyderco knives are overpriced and overrated, but you can buy a lot of blade for a lot less if you are discerning.
I have to admit that at one time, I thought Spyderco knives were theee knife to own and collect. Yeah, the Kool-Aid was nearly irresistible. But after the Para 2, Mannix, etc., totaling 4 or 5 knives, I stopped. I found that the “Hole”, and the “Spidey (thumb) flick”, and the “Spidey (index) flick”, and the Spyderco price ‘points’, etc., etc., was just annoying. Never so happy when I discovered how some of the best knives in the world (that I can afford) are those ‘Knives Made in China’!! So, I have a permanent pass on Spyderco, and this one is for sure no exception.
AJAugustI think this knife was made in Taiwan (which does not consider itself to be part of China). Spyderco has made some of their knives in Japan and some in the USA. There are others who would know, but I believe their value line and Byrd may be made in China, but that is something for you to research yourself.
Not sure what's funnier....S30V and G10 for $300+, or calling a 4" blade "practically a pocket machete" lol
I scrolled down to the specs section expecting to see this was like a 6-8" blade, figuring maybe that would explain the absolute bat shit crazy price that Spyderco put on this thing 😂🤣🤣

Almost $400 for g10 and s30v? Spyderco strikes again. Seems like you're paying for the brand not the craftsmanship. Not surprisingly mfs will buy it unfortunately.
Guys, the whole upside to using Drop in this context is spending accrued points so you can beat MAP pricing. It's amazing how many people parrot the same comment over and over and over and over, lmao. Y'all are giving me an ulcer.
Perhaps it's because of all the emails they send out. I glance at the email and see something that catches my eye. Click on it hoping for a deal, but it's the same old same old. Maybe I'm just optimistic.
Dkim01I think the fundamental reason why it ticks us off is because it wasn't always this crappy. There was a time when the deals were good or were special enough that it set Massdrop apart from other vendors. We want them to be better because we know they can be better. We're frustrated that they don't seem to care anymore. Their "deals" are not even half hearted attempts anymore. Notice the minimum purchase of 3 units? They know this is a crappy deal, but they post it because they figure it's better to list a crappy deal than no deal at all. There was a time when i was ordering a knife almost every week from them. Not anymore...
And massdrop jumps the shark yet again. You have made yourselves irrelevant. Anything I see on your site that I want, I end up buying for the same or better price, with faster shipping, on any other site.
Agree with both! I loved MassDrop for a while..now I just use it to find cool shit and then look in the comments to see where I can get it cheaper! HAHA....I never buy anything from Drop before I check the comments. 8 out of 10 times someone posts a link to somewhere you can get it for the same price and within a few days rather than a few months. Occasionally they will have an actual deal but then I debate myself on if it's worth saving a few bucks and having to wait months to receive my purchase. Oh well... it was great while it lasted.
