I love knives. I love the steel used in knives. I find it fascinating, all the different alloys used and the processes implemented to produce blade steel. While this is not a top tier steel it still is a quality blade steel. I have a Spyderco Robin , part of there cheaper Byrd line, with this steel and I use it daily from cutting rope to opening hundreds of shipping boxes and everything in between. It has never disappointed me. Sure I have to sharpen it regularly but any knife used heavily will need sharpening. This steel gets a bad rap unjustly imo.

Gunnersmate2I use the Byrd rescue knives in my truck/wifes suv bag... great knives. As to my earlier comments on the steel, I was mainly stating there’s really no point in putting out a drop w CF laminate on a knife you can get at WalMart for like $40.

Gunnersmate2Solid perspective on an inexpensive tool that doesn’t disappoint. On the other hand, the delay in delivery mentioned above was from an objective contributor that I agree with.

HballYa I'm not big on any of the Massdrop Spyderco knives because of Spyderco's MAP policy. I was just commenting on the type of steel used.

Gunnersmate2If you’re interested in a Spyderco knife, they’re selling the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 with Camo handles and black coated blade on here for $125.99. The camo handle w/black blade normally sells for $149.50. That’s a pretty decent discount for a Spyderco. I own it and I love it! https://www.massdrop.com/buy/spyderco-para-military-2
