Just saw this in a massdrop email, GODDAMN IS IT BEAUTIFUL! I wouldnt say Spyderco are my go to knives for edc, but this one makes the Spyderco sticker price worth it. Ive seen the US folks complain its not actually a deal, but when you live in Australia and shipping a simple folding knife can cost you anywhere from 40 to 70+ dollars (yeah.... welcome to Australia) given Massdrops shipping is usually 1/8th of that, its worth it for me. For perspective, I bought a 75 US dollar USMC KA-BAR from knifecenter and the shipping back then was 75 USD..... Literally paying as much in shipping as the product itself, feel our pain Americans, feel it. Let alone being bent over a barrel by the exchange rate. So Massdrop doing more knives for us is a godsend even if you guys dont think theyre a deal.

GianninoThe part that is always overlooked in posts like this though, is that it still isn't anywhere near decent "group buy pricing". That just means you found a retailer, selling at full retail pricing, with decent shipping rates If the whole point of this site is to buy below retail with "group buying power", these kinds of deals completely miss the mark, and are more than a little insulting I think. It sucks that things are that ridiculously expensive to buy online there, i get that. And I'm happy for you that you can get better overall deals here and all, but it simply doesn't meet the spirit of this site. If it's retail (or higher) for ANYONE, it's not a well negotiated group buy, simple as that. It either means MD got no special pricing from Spyderco, or they did and they're pocketing a larger percentage. I'd like to believe it's the former, but either way, they're not doing their members any good on this one. Additional shipping costs for foreign sales are, well, just that...an additional concern, irrelevant to the base cost of the item. For something that can be bought at every day pricing here in the US for $174, what you SHOULD be looking at here is something like (at most, IMO) $160, and the same cost to ship as you're seeing now.

KavikYeah I understand that, and I get that it basically should be 160, 150 USD with the whole massdrop drop, but the easiest way for them to get the picture is to not buy it. Theyll get the idea and look into it when their stats come back with high discussion participation but zero sales. I just dont think people below in the comments need to be THAT mad. Chill bros, just dont buy it, get it from Blade HQ instead ez.
