Nice knife but ditch the scales and get some after market ones and it becomes great

Well made and sturdy knife. The blade shape and grind make it a really great slicer, breaks down boxes like going through butter. Knocking off the one star for 2 reasons: 1- there was an uneven weird bump at the heel of the blade that needed to be ground down for sharpening, it would benefit from a tiny sharpening choil considering the steep angle of the ricasso and the way the bottom corner back there hangs below the edge of the blade. That, or a softer ricasso blend

2- i'm having a harder time lately seeing the value in many of the spyderco knives, given the materials used for the prices they're asking. It's a good knife, I'm glad to own it, i just don't know if I'd buy it again for the money
