So, yeah, I have this one too. Well, the Chinese character version. And the bottom line up front is -- I fucking love this knife. Really, I oughta start charging SRM for some of these reviews, but the truth is I wish more Americans knew about them. And I think this one is my favorite of the whole lot, seriously -- even though the Land 910 series are better regarded overall, this knife is an original design with a decent budget steel, with a SRM signature grind mixing hollow and flat grinds with swedging and ramped jimping on the spine of the blade.

It flicks cleanly and it flips with a good resonant click. Sliding lock overtravel stop on the lockbar, locks everything into place - frame lock can't disengage until the slide lock is disengaged. Simple but effective. Something for those who worry about frame locks.

I've sharpened this one a few times and you could cut a shadow from the wall with the 12C27. The hollow grind really gives this knife a mean slice -- it can cut things very thinly. And it's nice and light, so that sharp blade is easy to fully control. How's the lock up? Solid, and the frame lock gets enough of the tang that the sliding lock is honestly gilding the lily, but I'll take it:

It's nice, it's light, it's got a sweet balance point on that finger groove. The blade's just lovely.

So overall is it good? Folks, it is good enough to mod. It's insanely well built for its price. The ergos are dead on. It flips on dual washers and bushings, like their Land series. It's a little bit smaller than the last SRM that Drop listed -- it's about the size of the Land 910, and it's as well made, but it's a wee bit lighter. That's good stuff. The Land series are what SRM are known best for, for good or ill. But if they'd never made those? I think this knife might be what they'd be best known for. This knife should be a lot better known than it is -- I'll leave it at that. Kudos to Drop - they're about five bucks cheaper than Amazon than this one. On a budget knife that's pretty impressive. Give them credit for that -- you gotta be fair, these guys take a lot of stick for their pricing, every time the knife's cheaper elsewhere people scream that Drop didn't give anyone a deal, like we all watch every penny like a hawk because we're on the edge of financial ruin, but when they DO beat the other guys everyone's suddenly like 'Well this is only 3 or 4 bucks more at Store X' while everyone starts lighting cigars with their spare benjamins, and tanking the stock market.
