If you pop off the plastic panel on the top of this safe with a prybar you have access to the locking mechanism and can easily unlock the safe. Check out reviews online before spending your money.

I have the smaller version of this safe (about half the height, no internal shelf). When I got it, I was pretty disappointed in how slow and noisy the electronic lock mechanism is. But I only paid about $25 for it, and it has worked fine. I use it for occasional quick storage in the garage. I wouldn't trust it for nightstand duty.

I have this exact same model and I had the same first impression with this one. The locking mechanism is slow and noisy on this one too. To be fair though, I don't really have anything else to compare it to.
