29 dollars for 3 keys? I could buy a whole keyboard for that price, why does everything have to be so expensive nowadays. And besides that, the shipping will also be 15 dollars. 44 dollars for 3 keys, what the heck.

What is the default configuration on the Macropad? is the Stack Overflow logo key 'ctrl', C 'copy' and v 'paste' ?

Yes. The default key map is CTRL, C and V, so you can copy and paste to your hearts content.

corgimasThis post will hopefully help you out! You will still need to use QMK to flash the firmware, but these pre-configured hex files are ready to be flashed to The Key V2 and will give a more user-friendly default configuration. If you run into any problems or need anything else, don't hesitate to respond here!

HoffmanMysterThanks Hoffman, I tried using those files and I guess I am not certain how to. I flashed the preconfigured hex file in and I can see the white LED going and then the middle button removes the red backlight, but I was unable to do Cut/Copy/Paste.
I guess I am not understanding how to set that part up.
(I just do not want the red launch color! a stable cool color or a gradient would be awesome for the backlight, but I do not think I need to be able to toggle on/off, I thought that was possible but not certain how to get that to work with retaining the Cut/Copy/Paste)

Noticing in some of the pictures that the USB cable is being propped up, so will the base be heavy enough so that the weight of the cable won't cause the macropad to pivot up or flop around in general?

I have one of the first run versions and replaced the cable with a glorious ascended cable because I did find that the included cable would lift that version keyboard depending on desk placement. The softer stringy cable gives me more flexibility though, so I likely would have replaced the included cable anyway. Additionally, I replaced the included small dot stick on feet with two large thicker black stick-on pads to give the keyboard more height, but that is a personal thing. I have been using it for screen shot/quick save/quick load since I received it. I have also ordered one of these new ones with the plan to replace the included cable with a soft cable and set it up with some specific keys for online games.
