ChicagoWayI'm glad you are satisfied with your comb. I was one of the individuals who voiced a concern regarding the sharpness of the tines. I didn't realise that a rep from Chicago Comb has joined this discussion. I got it touch with John via email and he is sending me a replacement.
I took pictures of the comb I received: http://imgur.com/a/YLscE As you can see the edges of the comb and the tips of the tines are smooth and rounded but the edges of the tines have sharp corners.
I hope the replacement would be better finished.

mvalviarThere is a distinct "edge" to where the faces of the comb and the faces between the tines meet on mine, but they don't present any problem for me. By that I mean they do not cut my hair nor pull on them. I think a rounded edge would be more difficult to manufacture.

mvalviarHi everyone, it's John from Chicago Comb writing. We're sending MValviar a different version of this comb (Model No. 1 Mirror) to try out. The vertical edges of that comb are slightly more rounded than the Matte, because of the somewhat different way it's polished. The Matte version - which is our top seller - works great for the vast majority of people. But if for some reason you don't love it, drop us a line and we'll try to find you a different comb you'll love using every day.

ChicagoCombI received the replacement comb. It's perfect. No sharp edges at all. I must say it's the best comb I have ever used. Thanks John!

tx.bTx.b, thanks for your note. This is John from Chicago Comb responding. The comb currently being offered is our most popular comb. If there was enough interest by other members here, I'm sure the site would consider offering a different version. Either way, if you get the comb and for some reason don't like it, you can always write to us and we'll be happy to exchange it for a different one (Mirror, etc.).

I couldn't be happier with the comb. I didn't notice any burrs upon visual or tactile inspection . I also ran a cotton ball along the faces and I believe the comb is well finished. I think Chicago Comb Co. did a really good job.
