Could someone please let me know what extra features are in this for the price this commands. a Merkur razor costs 29$ in Amazon. Am a newbie and trying to get information.

KartIt's made of aluminum, it's very efficient without being harsh. It's a step above a merkur for efficiency and comfort as well as the materials. Merkurs are made with a very cheap metal called zamak or pot metal. If you want to save a few dollars I would recommend a parker 24 or 26c as it is made from brass and then plated. I have a parker 24c and I purchased this hoping for a shave that results in fewer nicks and less irritation. From what I've read, it should deliver just that.

Kart/r/wicked_edge , badger and blade. Just do a search for 'merkur zamak'. Amazon isn't the best place to buy. Maggards razors in the Us, italian barber in canada or connaught shaving in the UK would be better options.
