50$ for aluminum razor. You can get the real thing for less from trusted brands.

KovaLuuLike what brands?
I will say that feedback for Standard razor has been overwhelmingly positive, both on Massdrop and other places. Add that to the great price we were able to negotiate with Standard Razor and I think it's a very compelling product.
I now use my Standard razor exclusively, for what it's worth.

IanAndersonMerkur and Mühle to name a few. I just don't understand the aluminum body since it scraches more easily, doesn't glide as well and might even be too light(?). It has quite different look for a razor, which might be the selling point in this one.

KovaLuuThis thing is $50. I could see your point if it was selling for $500, but $50? Come on.. Obviously those 2 are staples when it comes to razors, and for good reason! However that being said if you're comparing this to other razors in the sub $50 category you're strictly talking about the cheap ones made of pot metal, which will not last you as long as something made of aluminum I'd imagine. Pot metal isn't exactly known for its durability.
I'm also not sure why you think this thing will scratch so easily just because it's aluminum. I mean what are you doing to your razors anyways that they'd get scratched up? My cousin has had this thing for months now and has had no issues with it. The lack of weight can take getting used to but I wouldn't say it scratches easily nor is not the 'real thing'..

KailecHard anodized aluminum can be up to a 9 on the Mohs Hardness Scale (Diamond is 10). Scratches shouldn't be an issue at all.

KailecI would see this china made product to be around 30$. Don't get me wrong, im not saying it's a bad razor. I'm just really sceptical since the manufacturer isn't well known and doesn't give the proper info about the product. Maybe the scatching is a bit reaching, but many everyday aluminium products tend to look awful after some time. lol maybe this chinase anodizing is 9 on moths scale, you guys be careful not to scrach your ceramic sink with it

KovaLuuChina has good quality manufacturing as well as poor, it depends what you pay for and they have a good reputation now for metal products as very few other places in the world still actually have the skills to manufacture it.
It's also an incredibly simple product, you would have to be majorly incompetent to make something unusable. Say what you want about brands, but the reason people like these razors is simplicity and that really makes brand name quality very variable.
You would probably be surprised what products are aluminium, I doubt you would be able to tell the difference most of the time, processing makes a much bigger difference. At this price even your bog standard merkur is going to be made out of pretty low quality steel.
