Holy Crap! What an aggressive razor! I've got several DE razors, mostly from Ikon and RazoRock - I thought this modern styled razor would fit in well with my collection, and offer a slightly different shave. But cripes, I might as well be shaving with a straight razor! Love the workmanship, and this is really a beautiful razor, but just way too aggressive for me.

LonelyRavenI also found this to be extremely aggressive. The first try resulted in the worst burn from my aftershave i have ever experienced. Wanting to make sure it was the razor and not my method, i went through a meticulous prep (shower first, lather, warm wet towel for 3 minutes, re-lather, etc) and the second shave was worse than the first. I also noticed the blade has significant play when installed making blade exposure inconsistent. This razor ate my face. I know i have a very tough beard but i do not have sensitive skin. It is unusable. If you have a tough face, silken beard and a surgeons touch, then this razor might be for you.

JulioshnobiSorry to hear about the bad shave, but i had the exact opposite experience. I was expecting the razor to be agressive but found it to be mild and smooth. I used a fresh Astra SP blade and the body shop macca root shaving cream. I'd say this razor is like a a lightweight travel version of my merkur futur on setting 1 or 2. Gonna try a sharper blade for my next shave.
Update: the Gillette 7 o'clock Black blades worked out perfect for me. Super close with little to no irritation. This razor and blade combo will be my daily shaver for the foreseeable future.

JulioshnobiIf you want to sell it, I'll buy it off of you, I already have one and think it gives me the best shave I have had, and I sometimes go through the prep you go through, but not often. I'd love to have another one for travel.

llopezI had the same experience. I'm also using Astra SP blades, and this being my first go with DE razors, I was a little surprised at how mild it was. I also sort of expected to nick myself transitioning from cartridge razors, but that didn't happen.
It was a long wait, but ultimately I'm pretty happy with mine.

JulioshnobiSometimes it's just a bad blade. You have to try out a lot of different kinds of blades to see which works best for you. Make sure you don't apply very much pressure too.
