Does anyone have experience with this and the feather AS-D2? I'd be interested in comparison as I have the feather and this looks comparable to me.

targaboyThe Feather AS-D2 is a very nice razor and pretty mild. I have found that for best results, use Feather blades. In most razors the Feather blades will slice and dice your face but not in their own razor. The shave is clean and baby butt smoothe on a three pass shave with a good soap. One thing I found a bit weird to get used to was the shaving angle, particularly on the upstroke against the grain. Practice make perfect however and you do get the hang of it. I have also had very good luck with the IKON open comb which works particularly well if you go Neanderthal for a week. The razor in this deal gives a very mild shave (I use a Wilkenson Sword blade). The weight takes getting used to after using stainless or plated brass. With all that said, however, this shave will give most razors a run for their money. Being a 3 piece razor, this is the first I have seen with the screw in the handle with a smaller diameter that others I have. I have 4-5 shaves with this and other than the weight being a little light I find no major flaws. I'll use it a month to see if it makes my favorites list or goes with my other orphans.

targaboyThe Feather AS D2 is a beautifully made Stainless Steel razor...I'd say it's quite mild too. Definitely one of the best modern DE razors on the market. It's also well balanced; you let the razor do the work for you. I'd guess that it's a bit heavier than the Aluminum Standard ...and more durable
