Do these come with a warranty?
Ulti@Ulti

They certainly do! Working on getting the details straightened out but we'll post the details shortly(all the docs are in Japanese and we don't want to give you the wrong warranty period length).

That said, STAX systems work essentially forever if you treat them well. Very low failure rate and it's easy to see if you start googling around for STAX systems, most of those systems have been in continual use for 10+ years.

WillThat's good to hear.
I'm well aware that Stax systems last forever, I've got an srd-7 and sr-3 that's some 50 years old or so, and it still works just fine.

WillAs it was suggested by another poster, any chance we will see the SR-007MK2 or SR-009 with drivers up here?

I'm sure there are users here that are willing to drop 2-4K. At the right price I'm sure people will find the way to get the money. I don't think a GB has a requirement to sell sold 20+ units of the product to be a successful, if we get some discounts over retail and get a group buy going, I think that is good at any price tier. Retailers price their product in a way that creates them some profit so selling 10 units @$3000 and giving us a small but still better than the retail price will still benefit all the parties involved - except MD I don't know how much you guys charge ;)

For example if MD dropped Sennheiser HD 800s at $1300(DO IT!) I would be hawking my shit on the head-fi forums at bargain prices to make it happen...but really make it happen.

TL;DR Create an MD for the HD800 at $1300, I will throw my money at you, and everyone will be happy.

aj-kunIf you know where you look, (basically) new HD 800s are available for as little as $1100 all day every day (basically new being the keyword; same 2-year warranty though).

If it were a Colorware option then we'd be talking.

As an owner of some stupidly expensive gear myself, I recognize that we are really in the minority and I doubt an O2 deal would reach drop status. I think a Lambda deal (e.g. Lambda Pro or Lambda Nova Signature) would be more attractive to all parties involved and I know I'd be in for one.
HolotypeHere we go...

First off, please tell me where you can get them new for as "little as $1100". The msrp is $1499, and that's generally the same price everywhere.

Are you sure you really doubt an o2 deal would drop status? Really really sure? I'd be willing to bet you it can. Oh wait... https://www.massdrop.com/buy/mayflower-dac/talk

Please do some research before you just type words in a box, it may confused other people.

TylerJ.ChiltonCrutchfield.

I don't understand what the O2 amplifier has to do with the Stax Omega 2 (AKA SR-007), which should have been fairly obvious in the context of "stupidly expensive gear" and another Stax model mentioned in the same breath. I mean no disrespect, but I think the Stax Omega 2 and Objective 2 amplifier are targeted towards completely different markets.

I apologize that I didn't spell everything out.
HolotypeI don't know what it has to do either, but you brought it up. Of course they are 2 different markets. What I'm getting at it is do not throw wrong information around without doing research.

TylerJ.ChiltonYou misunderstand me. You are the first individual in this discussion to bring up the O2 amplifier (i. e. Objective 2). My post you initially referenced quite obviously was talking about the O2 headphone (i. e. Stax Omega 2). I think the opportunity for confusion in a high-end/electrostatic discussion is really quite slim; I doubt any enthusiast would mistake the product referenced. Context is key here.

Let me make myself clear: I doubt a Stax SR-007/Omega 2/O2 headphone drop would perform well. I hope and expect to see more Objective 2 amplifiers dropped in the future.

And the HD 800s are still $1100. ;)

TylerJ.ChiltonI wasn't going to comment, but then I noticed you are a vendor. This is very unprofessional behavior and you're only damaging the reputation of your company.

TylerJ.ChiltonOn @TylerJ.Chilton side. No way HD800 are 1100 just checked everywhere, maybe ebay but cruch has them 1500$, please show me where they are 1100 and ill buy now. As him being a vendor i think it is great they are here in the community. All he was doing was clearing up the fact's so if they were wrong cant get mad at pointing them out.

If I am spending this much on cans, I may as well get the best. My HD650 could sure use an upgrade. I would agree there isn't going to be much market for say the highend cans mentioned but aside from me, there's at least one other person interested. So I think getting a few people to bite isn't going to be that much of a problem

jeff4216Well you partially answered your own question, but they are also on Head-Fi for $1100 and less all the time.

But more importantly, like Tyler, you are oblivious to what is actually being discussed. No one really cares that he thinks he has to pay $1500 for the HD800. Christ . . . .
