Opened the bag.
Please talk to the warehouse team.
Never ship things like this like you did.
It was out of its original packaging. Granted that was already questionable in itself.
The smell. Like a blacksmiths forge.
The heft. Like scissors for Hercules.
The blades. Like a child attempted to sharpen something without guidance or proper training. Holy WTF. I'm German and my family would disown me if I ever did something like this to metal. Yet I'm not a metalsmith.
Basically they sharpened it unevenly and left a burr on it that you can feel but see without eyes. Imagine having a broken nail and then using 99c clippers on it while running your hand across a chalk board. It's disturbing.
I'm talking a metal burr from hell. I could go on and make jokes etc but I got 2 absolutely disappointing drops delivered in one day. My head hurts and I just got home. FML.
Thanks so much for your post. I was considering a nice pair of kitchen shears but these obviously aren't the ones. Someone must have used the them to cut through the ridiculous roasting chaimmail Massdrop was hawking last week. Plus they don't come apart to clean like any quality pair should shows the lack of. Thanks for the heads up amigo.
Don't get me wrong.
It was a bad day for drops being delivered.
So I was a bit harsh.
These things cut very well. Like really well, even with the burr.
And the company is actually sending me another pair properly sharpened. So kudos to them for making it right.
Also. I think the price on MassDrop was a great deal so no matter what, I still got some heavy cool looking scissors for any kind of cutting around the house.
Forgot to mention. I haven't tried to take them apart. I'll post about that later.
Reading your original review of the shears made me a little wary of ordering them from Massdrop. But it was their response to your review that gave me the ease of mind to join this drop. Hopefully, your original experience is a rarity and future shipments will be different. Thanks for sharing, BrainFlush! :-)
I think they'll start making sure no more issues come up.
And again. These did sell well originally. Not hundreds. But enough that there are people with them and so far I seem to be the only one who had an issue. Which would mean they got shears in perfect condition etc. So here's hoping to seeing more of their stuff on MassDrop for us to try out.
