I use this cam for 3 weeks now and I'd like to share my opinion about it.
Very briefly.
Good: size (very compact), form factor, ease of install (long cables included) and presence of CPL filter.
Bad: GPS takes 10-15 min to catch satellites after cold started.
Ugly: Lots of hot pixels on sensor visible at night, below average video quality. I can read number plates of the cars around me only in daylight on the distance 10-15 meters and only when cars are nearly stationary, In normal traffic on a freeway you see zilch.
Summarizing - this dash cam is an overpriced piece of crap.
Update after 3 month of use.
In order to improve terrible image quality, I updated firmware to latest one taken from Street Guardian support site. Result is negative, still rubbish, no changes. Nothing even close compare to glorious reviews on YouTube.
Suspecting that my device is out of focus I followed information from this thread https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/i-think-my-street-guardian-v3-is-blurry.28051/
and, after testing, found that focus is OK.
And by the way, GPS data (car speed) is not displaying any more on records.
So, my original conclusion stays the same - Street Guardian SG9665GC V3 Dash Cam is an overpriced piece of junk. Recommendation is - stay away.

Just to start off I would like to say I'm very satisfied with the product, although it took a little effort to get there. To start off with the pros. It is easy to hide behind your rearview mirror which is very important to me as I cannot stand visible things on my windsheiod because I am weird. Mounting bracket is desgined well and makes it easy to go between cars. The flat bracket works well on any normal car windsheild, and the slopped works on a near vertical windsheild on my old truck as well. However I do have it hard mounted in my daily so it's not like it's being moved around all that much. I would recommend hard wiring, you can get any kit on eBay or Amazon for $10-15 and the included wire shroud means you won't see any cables. I even have my radar detector wire running through it and for any perfectionist like myself that can't stand the site of a wire it's a great addition. This is though, where we start getting into the flaws which may be annoying for people like myself or you might not care at all but I want to make sure I mention all my thoughts. Starting with the afformentioned wire shroud, it has a fundamental flaw. No windsheild are perfectly flat, yet it is. This kenas that when you try to mount it the cover will not close properly and will fall off when you hit a bump or a pot hole, to put it in perspective I drive a Fiesta ST so it's not like an exotic with a super aggressive windsheild. This is quite an easy thing to fix though all you need to do is sand down the side sections of the top part of the shroud until it can click into place properly, in my case this was about 1/8 inch towards the top and around 1/4 on the bottom half. The only other major flaw is the mounting double sided tape, it says 3M on it, but I doubt it is, it's garbage. Less than a week after mounting it started falling off (yes I prepped the surface with the included alcohol wipes) admittedtly it was a little warm in the low to mid 80s in southern California, warm but nowhere near the max temps we see in the summer. What was also odd is that the tape peeled off in the camera side, it was still stuck to the windsheild, so it's possible there was manufacturing residue responsible for the failure. After cleaning both my windsheild and the mount with alcohol I applied some off the shelf 3M heavy duty double sided tape and it has been fine for about a month now, peak temps being in the low 90s so far. My last gripe is that the footage is also nothing special, it wasn't the most important thing for me as long as it can pick up plates (which it does not struggle with) I have no problem with it, however it is on par with some other cheaper cams on the market and is $40 more than what appears to be a no name knockoff/OEM version. All in all great for someone with the out of site out of mind metality like myself, sand down the shroud a little bit and throw on see real 3M and you will be pleased.
