Product Description
Sturmanskie, which means “for Navigator” in Russian, is one of the few remaining Russia-based watch manufacturers. One of just 2,000 pieces, this limited-edition timepiece is styled just like the watch that Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, wore on his 1961 journey that would change the course of history forever Read More

Great Watch But Watch Out: Drop Will Send You A Dud.
On the whole, the watch is very appealing and stylish. Runs great, feels nice, it's a fun conversation piece. The watch I received came wrapped in a dirty zipper bag inside its box. The watch itself was pristine except the watch hands were bent inwards, as if they were pushed against the crystal. This seems like a factory second that didn't pass QC, and now I think I understand how Drop is able to sell these for a fraction of the retail price. Drop customer support was unable to replace the watch, all they could offer me is a $25 store credit.

I've been running this daily for over two weeks now, solely because I don't have a winder. My impression is that it's a nice, simple auto for the price (i.e. a good value). The movement on mine is a little fast, but not unreasonably, maybe +15 seconds/day. The leather straps are supple and very comfortable, and the clasp feels solid. Two of the hands and all of the hour markers are luminous, however, they don't glow very much or for very long, unfortunately. Ultimately, the low(ish) price, comfort and (reasonable) accuracy make this worthy of daily use for me.

Fantastic Modern Russian Watch with Nostalgic Aura
Great addition to the old/new Shturmanskie homage. The crown looks deep metallic blue than black. I love it!!

Why yes, that *is* a Soviet cosmonaut on my wrist!
All the specs listed are accurate. I haven't experienced any problems so far. Seems relatively well-built. I'm definitely happy with it. One thing I was surprised by: In the pictures, the face is very black (model 2416/3805147) but in person, it looked blue. Once I looked in different lighting conditions, I realized the blue color comes from light interacting with the crystal, not from the face itself. Even in warmer indoor light, the blue color is sometimes visible. Not necessarily a bad thing, just unexpected. I also discovered that if I accidentally put the strap on one notch too tight, I end up with Yuri Gagarin's face imprinted on my wrist.

Big face, easy to read, vintage feel to the point where it reminds of my Dad watch. I can barely feel I'm wearing it. Easily my favourite

Extremely positive!!
Handsome, stylish, classic good looking watch. I wear Longines, Tag Heur, Raymond Weil and others. The Sturmanskie gets more attention than all the others.

Good watch overall
Updated review: I like the watch overall. It has a classic look that goes with most of my wardrobe. Paired up easily especially with my work wardrobe. I don't wear the watch everyday though, so I can't comment on the accuracy of it. But I don't notice loosing any significant time throughout the day when I do wear them. Knock one star because of the original issue below and as I noted on the comments that the backplate is now installed upside down (after I got it back). Just give me the impression that it doesn't have the best quality assurance department. Anyway it's still a good value overall. Original Post: I wasnt going to post this as a review. But multiple emails to drop.com were unanswered. Post it on the discussion page and no response either (tagged @R2AWatches as well). This is my last effort by posting this as a 'review' and emailed R2AWatches directly. Anyway, my watch is still within 30 days and I need a replacement of what I believe is a defective unit. The issue is I cant adjust the time forward. I can only adjust it backwards. It's functional but obviously annoying if I missed the correct time I have to go back around 12 hr. There's no way it's by design. I think i noticed on the video posted on the product page that at one point the watch was adjusted forward. But in the chance that I'm wrong on this, for the current owners, please let me know. Anyway, if I turn the crown the opposite way (at time setting), then it'll just unscrew the whole crown. Literally it comes off. I like the watch. I just need a replacement. Shouldnt be this hard to get drop and r2awatches attention on defective product like this. Please advise. (Obviously I'll amend the review once the issue is resolved).

zoogYour watch is obviously defective. No such issue on mine although with concern I await what issues mine would reveal. Quality control, it seems, remains a serious problem with both Sturmanskie and R2A Watches (importers of these watches who should press upon Sturmanskie folk to up their game). Let us know if your return/exchange process went smoothly. Hope you did not have to pay for shipping?

FAautobahnI got it resolved thru R2Awatches. Prepaid postage. Although the backplate now is installed upside down. But it's minor; more annoyance than an issue.

Nice simple watch.
It was way lighter then I thought it would be. I understand it is supposed to be a remake of the original but, they should have still made a more solid steel case. Other then that it is a nice sturmanskie. The green color is great.
