When the first Russian explorers set foot in the arctic in 1957, they wore watches built for extreme temperatures and atmospheric pressure. Their dials featured a 24-hour scale to reflect the unique position they found themselves in, atop a polar world when day and night are virtually indistinguishable. In honor of these brave explorers, Sturmanskie has created the limited-edition Heritage Arctic Watch, which features many of these same characteristics: a 24-hour dial, a made-in-Russia mechanical movement, and luminous hands and markers. New to this version, however, is the rotating disc in the center of the dial with a map of the North Pole outlined in silver or gold. Measuring 42 millimeters wide, the watch is set on a natural leather strap to fit any wrist comfortably.
