For piecing I like aurifil. But for quilting I prefer King Tut. Aurifil tends to break while quilting while king tut never broke while i used it and my machine didn't seem to need the tension adjusted. I haven't tried king tut for piecing, I am going to try that soon as I like to keep thing simple and one thread is easier to stock than 2 brands. I've used these both on a domestic sewing machine, Juki 2010. Hope that helps.
