riddleandwhimsyI've used both and the titanium last a lot longer! Also a really good price. I also like the hole for thicker or fancier threads. They don't seem to wear the thread as much as the other. But that is just my opinion. ;)

StitchyteacherSewing machine needles are pretty standard. If your needles have a flat back at the top, they will fit. I love these topstitch needles are piecing. Bigger eyes = easier threading.

kaybee884I have to disagree... somewhat:  Singer needles are a slight bit longer and for that reason, I don't use Singer needles in anything but my vintage Singers.  I also use completely different needles in my sergers.  So, yes, while most needles are standard, don't underestimate the slight differences to work against your machine timing of the lockstitch.  I gave specific usages because I know that Organ Needles are owned by Brother International and are used to time Brothers and Babylock and are installed in those machines when they leave the factory.  I also know they work in my Juki.  I don't advocate any other brands of machines until the owner checks their manual. Read the manual, determine what is best that way.

I'm not exactly into sewing as a hobby but i would like to use the machine I have for repairs and maybe making a few things. I was wondering if these needles can be used for more than quilting, applique, etc that they are listed for. I'm basically wondering if these needle sizes are all I'll ever need.

McDaddyHi McDaddy- these needles can certainly be used for more than just quilting. They are top stitch needles so they are super sharp and can accommodate thick threads with their large eyes. Some sewing projects require special needles - jersey fabric, for example, is best sewn with a ballpoint needle. But for all around use, these are a great bet.
