Pretty excited to receive this one. Good price, solves the biggest blocker for me with smartwatches right now, battery life, hits about 50% of what I want in a connected watch, and is both tough and armed to the teeth with sensors.
Casio is doing some interesting stuff with their hybrid Android Wear pieces to maximize battery life and different functionality modes, but can't deliver the Peak's 6-8 days of continuous 60s GPS. Will be interesting to see Casios and others 1-2 generations down the line.

Got my watch a few weeks ago and since then have been pool swimming (up to 2 hours), running (up to 2 hours with GPS), biking (up to 4hrs with GPS), triathlon(ing) (Ironman distance 12hrs) and hiking (2 days with GPS on for approx 8hrs) with it. Also, I have been wearing it day to day as a watch (for time reading purposes).
I find that the battery is good for all the activities listed above, I still want to see how long the battery will last and whether it will last over a 4-6 day hike (using GPS), but my first impression is that its great. Its awesome that it easily syncs with my phone and other apps (i.e. Strava). I got the sapphire version and its great that it doesn't scratch (however, the metal ring around the face does scratch).
The strap is comfortable and the face can light up which is great when swimming in murky water (or if its dark obviously). Also its awesome that the GPS connects really quickly to satellites (within 30sec at most).
Great buy, would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to track their activities.

I use this watch on lots of multi-day hikes. You will find that battery life is heavily dependent on:
1) GPS on-time, -if you let it run 24/7 vs. turning on at begin and off at end of activity (duh, I know) 2) GPS recording interval as defined in the sport mode you are using via movescount.com 3) GPS accuracy as defined in the sport mode you are using via movescount.com
I basically have two different custom hiking sport modes: 'thru hiking' and 'hiking.'
I use 'thru hiking' for extended section hikes and thru hikes where recharging is sporadic. Settings are 10 second recording interval & "Ok" accuracy. If your life depended on an accurate on-the-ground backtrack of your route in brushy terrain, this could screw you; it will not precisely record your route. It will record your general area and general route well enough on established trails.
I use 'hiking' for day-hikes and weekend trips where I will be able to recharge within 4 days. Settings are 1 second recording and "Best" accuracy. This mode does a much better job of accurately assessing your location, exact route and your workout statistics.
Hope that helps!

So the DHL tracking just informed me that the watch has departed from the local distribution in Mexico. The thing is I'm in Malaysia and the shipping address is also to Malaysia. Can anyone in this discussion page provides some clarification? I've contacted the Massdrop support team. No word from them yet.

Suunto has a lot of diving computers that show you everything you need for diving, including the depth and the time you can stay on that depth without entering the decompression, Ambit3 has completely different purpose

Thanks - I have seen their dive computers; I was hoping this could also be used as a dive watch with depth gauge for those times when a dive computer is not necessary.

Can someone tell me if warranty is included? I can't really find whether it is or not. I know it says warranty leaflet is included but not sure if that means anything in particular. Thanks in advance,

I think that for 130 USD you can buy a lot of screen protectors to protect your screen from scratches ... I have a tempered glass screen protector on my smartwatch for 2 years and the screen behind is in perfect condition. I am sure you can find a tempered glass film screen for this watch as well that won't cost more than 10 USD

Just joined the drop. Not having an optical hr.. is it that critical? Or for training purposes not that important and regular strap hrm will do the work? My thoughts were that optical hrm is adding to the bulkness of the watch and shortens buttery life.. and also not as accurate as a strap.

I have the black HR model that I got at a local TJ Maxx in PA, at a steal of a price on clearance. its very comfy and super durable mineral crystal, I've mowed the lawn with it numerous times, and banged the glass hard several times, not even a scratch so far. the features are incredible, this is basically a mini computer with gps lol, not as pretty as an apple watch graphics wise but just as capable, I personally like it for its classic tool watch look and durability, I have not yet joined the apple watch bandwagon.

I have this watch, it's really great. The website controls are fantastic. The on-watch software is very functional, but kind of kooky to learn. Battery life is great if you manage the GPS interval
